The Indian Premier League is suspended indefinitely because of COVID-19 in the middle of March. Since then, the sporting community has not received any positive updates.

If it is not the coronavirus pandemic, the tournament would have been in full swing. There’s no sign the league will resume any sooner because it’s not even sure when proper cricket will start with the current situation, shared by the Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.Sharing his opinion, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal said the cricketing season would start with the Indian Premier.

Yuzvendra Chahal sharing his opinion, said it would be best if the IPL could start as soon as it is safe to play a regular cricket game, which will also serve as an excellent platform for the T20 World Cup preparation.”To start with IPL will be the best choice than any other series, as it will be played for over two months. And players get time to get back in form after such a long time off the field.” Yuzvendra Chahal stated in a Sports interview.

It seems that the IPL will be given priority with the BCCI seeking a slot between August and October. According to ICC, the T20 World Cup was supposed to be scheduled on October 18, but due to the effect of Covid-19, it could be postponed to Feb-March 2021.

Amid the ongoing nation-wide lockdown, the 29-year-old
confessed it’s the first time he’s spending so much time indoors, the situation leaving him unable to play cricket and work on his game. However, the wrist-spinner often considers this as an opportunity to become mentally stronger.

The bowler added, “This is the first time I feel nothing I can do in 20 years of cricket career. But you can also take it positively that it would make you mentally stronger. It was hard for me in the first two days because I haven’t stayed so long at home.”
