Ashish Nehra: Too many adjustments in team of India in the past two years

Ashish Nehra, former Indian pacema has worked intently with Virat Kohli at Royal Challengers Bangalore, the place the left arm pacer was once a member of the coaching group. Talking on his show Aakashvani with former India opener Aakash Chopra, Nehra said Kohli is still a work in progress with respect to his captaincy. “Kohli’s career statistics shows the whole story. Kohli as a player has done incredibly well, I still feel he is a work in progress in captaincy, he is a little bit impulsive.”
Nehra is one of the members of the 2011 ICC World Cup’s winning team. He said India’s team management has made so many changes in the team over the past two years and this is disturbing the team’s core.

Ashish Nehra mentioned in the interview, “You should keep your players on their toes.Sometimes few players have a tendency to take a backseat and pressure on them is very important. But over the last two years, there have been so many adjustments in Playing XI.”
Nehra also added that the current Indian’s squad is nowhere close to Australia’s all-conquering team of the first decade of the 2000s.
Delhi paceman pointed out, “This Indian squad’s performance is far from Australia. You’re talking of an Australian team which won 3 World Cups consecutively , getting to the final in 1996, winning 18-19 home and away test matches. It’s not that this Indian team can’t get there but I think the core group plays an important role. After seeing too many dishes on the table, people will easily get confused and so it’s important to have less but better dishes.”
