The South Africa National Team Tour of Sri Lanka which was scheduled to take place in June 2020, has been postponed due to the ongoing global pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19). The statement was announced by Sri Lanka Cricket on 20th April 2020.
Both Sri Lanka Cricket and Cricket South Africa have made this decision jointly. The tour on June 2020 will be rescheduled if the outbreak has been cleared and the International Cricket Calendars of both countries allow for rescheduling. Sri Lanka and South Africa were preparing to play the 3-match ODI Series and the 3-match T20i Series during the trip. Ex Proteas captain AB de Villiers was set to return with this series to international cricket. Nevertheless, as a consequence of coronavirus, his comeback to international cricket is currently under considerable doubt.
