[IPL]- Harbhajan Singh describes facing CSK in IPL

Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh said it was strange to place the first time on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey. Harbhajan joined CSK in 2018 after spending almost a decade at Mumbai Indians with whom he played three times in the Indian Premier League.

MI used to play often with CSK for top league honors, and Harbhajan said matches between the two sides were like encounters between India and Pakistan.

“It was bizarre for the first time. I was like, ‘what is this? Is this a dream?’ Once we played against CSK, it was like India-Pakistan, it was a tough game. But suddenly I didn’t wear blue, and it was challenging to wear yellow. It was tough to get used to it,” he said in a live interview with CSK.

“Thankfully, we played our first match against Mumbai. I was like, ‘It was lucky that we got over this match early.’ It was tough in the first season, and after that, we won the trophy, and the second season was great,” he said.

Harbhajan represented four-time MI IPL winners between 2008 and 2017, before being acquired in 2018 by three-time CSK champions and the offspinner announced that he had found the pleasure of putting on a particular Yellow jersey. Harbhajan has taken 23 wickets in two seasons with CSK making it to the final in consecutive editions, capturing the title in 2018, and finishing last year’s runner-up to MI.

“It was an extraordinary moment to win the Indian Premier League 2018 with Chennai Super Kings,” he said. “And we had finished runner-up last year. I think we played cricket brilliantly. Switching to Yellow took some time after playing in Blue for ten long years, but we had won the championship by the end of the season.
