BCCI welcomes applications of the title sponsorship rights for the IPL 2020

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited third parties to show their interest in securing the title sponsorship rights for the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) which will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19th September to 10th November.

The Board confirmed in a statement that the rights would be available from 18th August until 31st December 2020. Only parties who submitted the Expression of Interest (EOI) forms would be given information about the rights and product categories.

The Board has also mentioned that the interested party’s turnover must be more than INR 300 Crores as per the most current audited accounts.

The statement mentioned clearly that, “Interested third parties (excluding marketing agency / agents) wishing to acquire any of the Rights should submit an EOI in the manner prescribed. For the avoidance of doubt, it is clarified that marketing agency / agents are not eligible to bid and any bid submitted by a marketing agency / agent shall be rejected at the outset.”

The EOI should accordingly “indicate the product category or product categories for which the third party is interested in being named as a IPL 2020 Title Sponsor .”

Every EOI should be sent to the BCCI by 05:00 PM (IST Time) on 14th August and the final bid should be submitted to the Board on 20th August 20 from 11 am to 01:00 PM (IST Time).
