BCCI Accuses ICC of Creating Confusion on T20 World Cup

The uncertainty about the fate of the Men’s T20 World Cup continues with ICC further delaying its decision by a month. Still, BCCI is not happy with the policy of waiting and watching as it has accused the president of the global governing body of deliberately creating confusion.

The ICC was to decide on June 10 but said that it would discuss further contingency plans before making a final call on the showpiece event’s fate. In recent days, Earl Eddings, chairman of Cricket Australia (CA), has confirmed they do not think hosting this year’s event is a viable choice.

BCCI reasons that there is no need to delay the decision since CA is not interested in organizing this year’s World Cup. The BBCI is blaming the ICC chairman Shashank Monohar for creating confusion for the T20 World Cup. ICC had taken more than a month to announce the T20 World Cup to be conducted as they are trying to hold BBCI to bribe.

It is just not about the IPL or the BCCI. If ICC announces this month’s delay, even those member countries whose players are not an IPL part will schedule their bilateral series in that window. The late in making the decision will affect everybody in the cricket world.

There are talks about shifting IPL out of India if there is no improvement in the coronavirus pandemic situation in the country by the latter half of the year and a quick decision will help BCCI get their preparations underway in that respect.
