Pickaboo Put on hold on Mushfiq Auction

Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim’s bat auction was put on hold due to fraudulent bidding events, the Monday auction organizers said. Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiq had put up the bat on an online site only to face the dilemma for a five-day long auction.

The bat is historic as Mushfiq scored the country’s first ever double hundred Test with it, and the auction was planned to raise funds for people affected by Covid-19 Pandemic. Mushfiq’s management company, Nibco entered into an agreement with Pickaboo.com, an e-commerce site where the bat was put for auction but the Monday auction was stopped at 3:30pm when the report was submitted.

Nibco official has recorded there were 53 bids up until Tuesday with the price exceeding Tk41 lakhs for the bat and Nibco official would like to resume the bit anytime now. The officials who managed Mushfiq auction session believes that it was unsual that they seen some fake biddrs manipulate the process in order to raise the price. They have initially set to raise the price Tk10,000 at once however some bidders has raise the price at Tk80,000 at once. They are afraid it will discourage the real bidders.

CEO of Pickaboo informed the media that they are trying to filter the bids and look for the genuine bidders for the iconic bat. The CEO said that they it was an open bid and they don’t have any token money or safety deposit option. They have now put it on hold and take some time to filter the bids.
