Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Amir and Haris Sohail pull out of England tour

On Thursday, Mohammad Amir, Pakistan pacer and middle-order batsman Haris Sohail had been pulled out of the upcoming tour to England due to personal reasons.

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s statement pointed out that Mohammad Amir has withdrawn because he wants to anticipate the birth of his second child in August, while Haris Sohail will miss the tour due to family reasons.

PCB disclosed further in the statement, “Pakistan will send 28 players and 14 players support personnel for 3 Tests and 3 T20Is to be played in August and September. The squad as well as pre-series and series schedule will be announced in due time.”

The PCB canceled a player training camp at the National Cricket Academy earlier this week because of increasing cases of COVID-19 in the nation. Instead, the PCB requested its English counterpart ECB to plan an itinerary that would enable the Pakistan team to enter London early in June. Originally, the squad was scheduled to arrive in the UK on 6 July.

Pakistan is scheduled to play 3 Test and 3 ODI matches against England in August, and they need to complete the quarantine period.
