Now, they have made another big-money investment in a bid to add to their already massive net worth. This time, they invest in an insurance startup under the Digit name. Here’s all you need to know about their latest outing on business.

  • Let’s get to know a little about the company before we dive in. Digit is a new-age general insurance agency based in Pune, and was founded by Kamlesh Goyal. Digit is funded by the Canadian-based Fairfax Group, owned by Indo-Canadian Prem Watsa and headquartered in Toronto.
  • This is not the first time that Digit insurance opens for an investment round. In the past they had two rounds which helped them to raise around Rs 990 crore. A statement released by the company in the last week of January read that they’ve already raised Rs 596 crore, according to Your Story. And, this comes from three growth equity investors in the form of A91 Partners, Faring Capital and TVS Capital, subject to approval from IRDAI.
  • Its newest investors are VIrat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. They have spent a total amount of Rs 2.2 Crore, according to Economic Times. Kohli has the greater share of this investment with the Rs 1.73 crore, while the share of Anushka Sharma is Rs 43 lakhs. This investment has made them become the shareholders of the company with 0.25 per cent shares.
  • Sports talent management company, Cornerstone Sport LLP, which also handles Virat Kohli ‘s deals, has also invested Rs 1 Crore in Digit insurance, according to Your Story. Besides that, in this investment round, the employees of the company also invested more than Rs 30 Crore.
